The label Fabienne Chapot is born and raised in Amsterdam. It started as an accessory brand in 2006 under the name Fab. In 2016 Fabienne Chapot herself decided to rebrand the label and launch a ready-to-wear collection. They favour bold prints, rich colours, feminine tailoring and quirky details.
They launch 2 collections a year, each consisting of 5 chapters. All their prints are made inhouse. They always start with a pen or a brush, never made by computers.
They promote transparency in their production chain and proper working conditions in their factories that are subject to audits.
In terms of their fabrics, the majority of their polyester items are made of ‘RPET’, recycled PET bottles from Waste2Wear, proven experts in the field of recycling. Furthermore, they have banned non-animal friendly products like real fur, angora, mohair, exotic skins and real down feathers. Their wool/wool blend pullovers are knitted from certified mulesing-free yarns. They also use GOTS certified organic cotton, which without the use of chemical fertilisers is less harmful to the soil. Currently, they are looking at ways to make more sustainable choices when it comes to using 100% viscose.
To make an impact on our direct environment they are partnered with foundation 46dresses to help women who face challenges in their lives. Fabienne Chapot also supports the rental movement and partner with Spinning Closet, a designer fashion rental service, to facilitate the women who would love to wear Fabienne Chapot but prefer not to own them.
